The neighbor's baby died this morning. It was a cute little thing, chubby and happy. It never cried.

During dinner with the Missionaries last night we were talking about the differences between the way Mozambicans and Westerners deal with death. Mozambicans are quick to move on with their lives. They recognize that death goes hand and hand with life. I guess they'd have to. Still, I wonder if they don't internalize their pain, since being visibly upset after the funeral isn't culturally acceptable. I imagine that my neighbor is mourning in private. I wish that there was something that I could do.
